Encaustic is my current creative obsession. The unique esthetic qualities, challenging process and ancient origins are what first drew me to the medium.
My present series is a fusion of Asian and northwest American influences. I found my original inspiration from the simple but elegant sumi brush stroke. This led me to further explore my interest in traditional Japanese and contemporary northwest American architecture and interior design. Both cultures use organic materials, natural colors and movement coupled with simple geometry and lines to create an interesting harmonious contrast.
